Climate Change, Financial Markets and Innovation (CFI) (2008-2013)

Typically, issues of climate change, climate change , adaptation and innovation are addressed as technical and scientific problems. Concerning the domain of economics, questions regarding the real economicĀ and regulatory issues dominate the scholarly landscape. The financial sector is largely ignored in the context of this research .

The project “Climate Change, Financial Markets and Innovation” (CFI), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research ( BMBF) addressed these shortcomings, and centers the financial sector and its actors. The Sustainable Business Institute (SBI), designed and implemented the agenda of the CFI project. More than 20 scientific articles and 40 reports have been published to inform the discussion about the role of financial markets in adapting to and mitigation climate change.
